Work, Work, Work!

We are officially all moved into our new home and happy to report almost unpacked. Unfortunately the work has just begun. We got a glimpse of this the day after we moved in. Scott got home from a long day at the office to having to do this:
A Homeowner's work is never done!

The First of Many

So we closed on our house yesturday. Yay!!! So our first Saturday of being home owners was spent doing some home repairs and painting. I am sure it is the first of many Saturdays we will be working on the house in one form or another. But we needed some supplies and paint, so where do you go but .... HOME DEPOT. I think it is our new home away from home. Today was our first official visit to home depot with the intent to purchase many things. At least from now on we already know where all our money is going.

Family Pics

About a month ago we had some family pictures taken and we finally got our copy of the CD with them on. I thought they came out pretty good. I don't think Scott and I have taken a picture like that with just the two of us since our wedding.

Little Trooper

We got the results of the sleep test Jade had that I posted about a while ago. Basically she has bad sleep apnea and it was determined that the best course of action would be to have her tonsils and adenoids out. So this past Tuesday at 5:30am we drove up to St. Peter's University Hospital for Jade to have her surgery. The procedure was real quick. She was in and out in about 45 minutes. They usually don't take out your tonsils at such a young age so as a precaution they had her stay over night in the Pediatric ICU. After two long days we came home last night. Jade is healing well and back to her old self.

Here she is before surgery, very happy and has no idea what is about to happen.

When she first came back to us.

She needed a little bit of oxygen just when she first came out.

24 hours later and back to her old self.

Bound Feet

Cody has been responding beautifully to his growth hormone resulting in him growing leaps and bounds over the last six months. For some reason we failed to buy him bigger shoes along with the larger sized clothing he needed. Anyway, on our way to a church meeting last night we stopped by the mall and got him some new shoes. When we measured his foot, to our shock he had not gone from a 7 to a 7 1/2 or even an 8. He went from size 7 to size 9. Poor kid. But in some cultures tiny feet are attractive right?

Water Fun

Scott had some "comp" days he took on Thursday and Friday and we were able to go out of town to Six Flags' The Escape Lodge and Indoor Waterpark. We found it online while looking for something fun and active to do during colder days. So off we went to upstate New York. Cody was just the perfect size for everything. There were only two slides he couldn't go on, but too many other things to do for it to make a difference. Since Jade was obviously too small for everything she stayed with Grandma and Poppy for a funfilled couple days of her own. We had a great time and I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who needs a little "get-a-way" during the cold season.

Cody loved the slides.

He was excited to meet Daffy Duck, but sad he didn't get to see Bugs Bunny.

This is the "tree house". You can just tell it's Scott and Cody on the stairs.

Gotta love a surfing bear.

Believe it or not Cody's favorite thing was the lazy river.

They also had this area for boogie boarding and surfing. Of course Scott got in on the action.

This is where I spent most of my free time. It was a 18 and older spa area. I guess without my kids in tow I look younger than I am because I was questioned by the life guard as to my age to make sure I was old enough to be there.
All this fun can really wipe out a kid.
