Doctor's Appointment

Well, today we took Jade to her Pediatrician for the first time. She weighed in at 5 lbs 11 oz. That means she gained 7 ounces since she left HUP on Friday. I know it doesn't sound like that much, but for a newborn it is leaps in bounds. In fact our Pediatrician said they only expect her to gain between 0.5 oz - 1 oz a day, and Jade has gained almost 2 oz a day. So they are pleased with that. Jade still has low muscle tone and not a strong suck, so she still is feeding through a tube, but we are encouraged by her progress. In other news Cody is watching Chicken Little for the 15th time today. Not really, but he really loves the movie, and I can probably quote the entire thing by now.(He probably could as well.) Actually, Cody is doing really well also. He has just decided he wants to be potty trained. He has started to wear "big boy underwear" during the day and has been doing pretty good.
Here Jade is to the left looking pretty in pink. Actually, she looks a lot cuter than Molly Ringwald.

Hey Scott and Becca,
We are excited that you guys started a blog -- now we can keep in touch a little better. We're glad you guys are home from the hospital with your baby. Our youngest just got home from an 18 day stay in the NICU last month, so we understand what you've been going through lately. It is so good to have the whole family home together, huh? Cute pictures. So, Michael has been doing some interviews lately and one that he liked was in a town called Danville, Pennsylvania -- any idea how far that is from you guys? If we happen to end up out there, we'll definatly have to come visit you guys. Well, have a great Christmas!

Yeah! I didn't know that Jade had come home. I am so happy for you guys. I am so excited that you guys have a blog now. We have been thinking about you alot lately. If you ever need me to watch cody for some of those many doctors appointments I was reading about, just let me know. We are usually home and I am sure Zach would love to have him come and play! Good luck with two!

I am so glad that Jade is home with you! And as far as Chicken Little goes, Mason's favorite this to say when I ask him to do something is, "What were we talkin' about?"
